Speaker's biographical note: 

Graduated from the Physics Department of the Moscow State University and later worked as a research scientist at the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow, Russia) and at the Moscow State University's Sternberg Astronomical Institute.

He was a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics (Heidelberg, Germany), a research associate at Ben Gurion University (Beer-Sheva, Israel), and at the University of California Berkeley (USA). Before coming to the University of Zielona Góra he had been working for 8 years as a research scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (Greenbelt, USA).
